Scam. Woman claims to be calling from the local auto dealership where we purchased a vehicle years ago. Claimed she wanted to help set up a "scheduled service" appointment. She didn't even know how to pronounce the vehicle model properly. I checked the dealership's website and the number was not listed for any of their many departments. Number appears to be spoofed on Caller ID as being legit from dealership.
got a missed call on this number as well; looked on other sites and many claim this caller is a scammer, and is claiming to be from Bank of America, asking for date of birth, and other personal information.
called from 305 777 9799. His name is Caled Mann
He told me he is calling from FIA Card cervices
offering $500 in case of disability for 3 months .. blah blah blah....
.. and what is your DOB??
I said: send me all the information - i have to read it, and make a desicion on enrollment:
he: yes, I understand your concerns, sir, but in order to send it - i need your DOB...
.. ok.. and i am silent
he: I need your date of birth....
I: you can send it to me
he: if I send it to you, i have to make sure I am sending it to the right person...that is why i need your DOB...
I: if you have the correct name and the correct address: - your packeges will reach the correct person, without DOB...
he: ....
anyway... he was just asking for one thing... DOB.. and his arguments did not make any sense ...
