Got a call 11/23/12 from this number, caller called himself Michael, said he was from Verizon and my phone was going to be suspended because one of my payments had been returned. I said I would check on it. I called Verizon and they said I would be notified by an electronic voice or txt first. Also I was not in any danger. Financial dept. said to call them directly if another call comes through like that. There number is (866) 266-1445. This is not on the up and up. do not give any info them before checking with Verizon. I am calling Better B. Buer. also
Male caller who said he was with Verizon and had a very hard to understand accent said my check had been damaged by USPS and he would return my check and credit my account $20 if I would give him my credit/debit card info for the rest of the bill. When told that was not going to happen, he said he would disconnect my phone and charge me a disconnect fee and then hung up.
Same story, only he knew the number of phones that we have and had called two of the phone lines before I called him from a non-Verizon line and he tried to feed me a line about the payment being not received.

I got the call 11/26/2012 and told the thick accented man that Verizon never calls account holders for info. He said "Yes they do.....blah, blah, blah". When I asked him what exactly was the scam he was performing he hung up.
Received a call on Sunday morning from this number but did not answer. Monday I received a call from 208-286-1899 that told me to dial 1 on my cwell phone if I was Shelly. A women came on and said Verizon had not received my payment. However, I knew I had made the payment.
