They consistently call and once picked up and they said my name, then they hung up...picked up, again, tonight and saying how they would like another donation...explained i told them i am giving locally...they say, well, it's there service providing for them..asked were they in Mich., yes, and asked for website info, gave me it...but, if you want to contact them it's Knoxville, Tenn.
DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS!!!! The company is ACS. They claim they are the American Cancer Society, and they ask for donations. THIS IS A SCAM! I called the real American Cancer Society, and they said they have had thousands of calls about this number, and it does not belong to them.
They use an electronic dialer, looking for legitimate numbers. When you answer, your number goes into their list, and they will harrass you day and night. The best thing to do is not answer. If you have already answered a call from these crooks, and they keep calling, I suggest that you answer the call, sound interested, and ask them to "hold on" for a minute, put the phone down, and walk away. They will eventually give up and disconnect the call. If you keep doing this, they will stop calling.
