It's for local newspaper sales. They won't stop unless you call it back and request to NOT be called. Total BS. Also, don't just hang up after pressing the right number to not be called anymore. They make you confirm and then confirm again!!!!! WTF????? I had to press 3 to not be called, then press 1 when they said are you sure?, then press 1 again to confirm being removed from call list. That really sucks. Come on MO, what happened to do not call list????
Listen guys. We used to get these calls after being customers for over 40 years. We stopped the paper because my son started at SLU and for a $2.50 media fee he got free papers from the post, New York Times and probably others. So when they called I just told them that he gets the paper through school and they left us alone. I'm just not going to tell them when he graduates!
They will continue to call and try to sell. They will promise anything and you have to fight to have charges removed. To save ME time I simply write not on Bill and return. They will quit. I get at least two calls per day.
All that and a simple certified, return receipt letter telling them to stop calling you would have solved the problem. But if it didn't, then you would have had an excellent cause of action under the TCPA and could have received a ton of money to reimburse you for the harassment they caused you.
Receive calls from this "unavailable" caller every day and sometimes twice. They don't identify themselves or leave a message so I won't answer. So much for signing up with the National Do Not List, a freaking joke.
