SCAM call from "Breast Cancer Research and Support Fund." First red flag was that the voice sounded like a computer. However, it/she was actually able to answer my questions. I am fairly certain it was someone behind a computer typing or directing a response, because the responses were delayed and strangely punctuated, with a computerized voice. When I asked for a website to check out the organization, she did direct me to a working site (bcrsf.org), but again, the response sounded recorded ("You may visit our website at w...w...w...dot...b...c...r...s...f...dot...org. Again, that is w...w...w...dot...b...c...r...s...f...dot...org."). Second red flag-- she referred multiple times to "the ladies"-- not patients, or any number of terms that would have been more appropriate. She wanted to know if she could "count on my support for the ladies" and asked that I commit to a donation over the phone. She said that they do not accept donations by credit card but would send an envelope to collect my donation. I said she could send the envelope but I wanted to research their organization first, and so long as things checked out, I would send in a donation. She promptly but politely ended the call, which of course raised my red flag higher considering I had all but agreed to donate. So I started looking around, and found this: http://www.newtoseattle.com/2013/05/28/dubiou ... ious-hat-trick/
