IRS Scam. They are in Pakistan. Call them back insult their country, their religion . Call them Goat F**** this gets them going have some fun at their expense
"The IRS is filing a law suit against you, and you need to call us immediately at (314) 449-9390". Yikes. Thank to you all, it is clearly a hoax...so I will not be calling them back.
Man, Mike from the very first comment was right. That Goat F*** line really gets them going...
I got the automated call earlier today. Same IRS Scam. I had some time to kill and knew it was a scam, so I called back. A man with a heavy middle eastern accent said he was IRS OFFICER BRIAN SMITH (I almost lost it!). BADGE # 50279. CASE FILE NUMBER: dc1928, regarding IRS Statute 105 (FYI code 105 is for distributions from accidents and health plans). Brian said I owed $3800 from 2008-2012 discrepancies and needed to pay immediately. I played along and said I didn't realize and would settle right now. All he had to give me was the mailing address for the IRS to send the check in. He hung up.
An hour later and guess who call? Robot IRS person. So I call back. this time I owe $4500 (must have been additional interest for the 1 hour) based on statute 101 (which is really about death benefits). He is threatening me that they will bust down my door and take my car and house. So I said that I certainly want to pay - Where can I send the check? he says it need to be by credit card. I said " that's funny, because I'm a supervisor at the IRS and we take checks all the time". Click.
Now they hate when you tie up their line as another poster previously said. It costs them money - and I liked that idea. I hate scammers. So I called. several times. they would eventually pick up but having caller ID, they'd hang right up.
But then, going back to post #1, I called and when the guy picked up I simply asked if he was the Goat F***er who kept trying to scam me by claiming he was from the IRS. He didn't like that and instead of hanging up got into it. Saying Americans are all F'ers and we're going to die. He went on and on and when he was finally done I thanked him for talking for so long as it allowed our drone to get a solid fix on him. then I hung up
