My caller ID shows Unknown Name along with the phone number 480-5472. I don't answer calls from Unknown Name so I let it ring until my recorder picks up the call. Every time I do this, the person making the call from 480-5472 does not leave a message. I have received several calls this month and will continue to have my recorder anwer for any future calls.
Our home number has received 15 calls since 10/4/11 from this number, probably much more since the old Caller I.D.s roll off, and this has been going on for more than a couple of months now. Often there are three calls in one day, several days in a row. The caller waits for the answering machine to connect, then leaves the line open long enough for our machine to log a message, but never leaves a message. It's annoying to get home and have the message indicator blinking, just to have three "no message" messages on the machine. If the person doesn't leave an actual message, it must not be important, and yet they do it consistently.
