I just had the same call!!! I called them back and asked how they got my number and they said by the time they get it, they don't know what show or anything that it came from. I haven't registered for any shows -- my fiance did but that was under his name, and we didn't even go. I did register online with David's Bridal to let me know when they have big sales and be entered to win something but I don't think it was this. Either way, I told her "Sorry, I'll have to pass" and she let it go pretty easily. Kind of ticks me off that she knows my name and cell phone number but doesn't know how and then throws in at the last minute about viewing or giving a presentation.. I don't want to spend $10 in gas to drive to St. Louis and watch that when it's probably a scam/rip off like I've seen online, other than just what you said.. Scams suck. Someone should report them to the FCC..except that you probably can't since it was some other company that gave them the number. Grr.
It is a scam when you didn't give them your number. I got a call saying that I entered to win a contest with Gateway Brides. I haven't entered anything. I got tickets to go to a Bridal Show but decided not to go. They called me saying I visited them at the Bridal Show. When a company lies to you, it's never a reputable company.
I got a call from Gateway Bride. Didn't remember registering for a prize at the Dallas Bridal Show, but it seemed possible. The first voice mail from "Angel" was very pleasant, telling me I had won a prize. I didn't call back immediately and got a second voice mail from "Angel" in which she sounded annoyed that I hadn't called. I decided to research the company and phone numbers online. Glad I did, because I haven't seen very positive things. Looks like a scam and I won't be returning the call.
Called 3 times now by these people. Same as everyone else here, they say I won a bridal package I didn't register to win. Only place I gave many phone number recently was Davids bridal when I bought my dress.
