I received a call from this company about a payday loan from a woman named Monica Johnson who was very rude. She said I owed for 3 checks and wanted to know what I wanted to do about them. I told her that I would pay them and then she wanted a credit card number. I explained to her that I don't have a credit card and she started getting very rude again and talking over me while I was trying to explain to her I needed her to send me proof in the mail to pay it and I would send a money order. She just hung up on me. I called back and explained to her that I was not in good health and since I had a few heart attacks last year that I have a memory problem but I would be glad to pay if it is something that I owe and she told me she doesn't have to prove anything or give any receipt and she will only take payment by credit card but since I didn't have one that she was just going to have me but in jail for 3 counts of fraud. Then she said "I'm just going to go sign warrants to have you put in jail since you don't want to work anything out." I tried to tell her for like the 5th time that I did want to work something out and make payments but she just hung up on me. A couple of weeks later a woman named Nicole Wallace called me from the same number so I tried to return her call but the woman named Monica Johnson answered and refused to transfer me and would not let me speak to anyone else and just said that there are 3 warrants for my arrest and that they still didn't want to work anything out that they just wanted me to go to jail. I called the sheriffs office and they told me that there was 1 warrant for me to go to court and that I could come by and pick it up this week because I had already missed the court date and have it rescheduled for another time.
I have received several messages from this number. Each message gets more threatening than the last. The messages are from a Liz Dixon from Burnes Dixon Associates, not Smith Klien. Luckily, I researched this number before calling them back. I guess we will see what happens next. Doesn't sound like a legit company.
I got a call from this number and talked to a lady named Liz Dickerson or Dixon not sure what she is using now...told me that I was facing theft charges for a loan I got years ago and was very rude to me so I hung up, I got a call back a few days later from a "woman" named Monica Johnson and she was HORRIBLE!!! She knew my way to much about me for my comfort including my bosses name and said that she was having the Sheriffs come to my job to pick me up! I'm glad I decided to look this up because these black girls are very ignorant and not very smart at all especially the Monica girl. I called my lawyer and they told me to ignore every call I recieve from.
I have received 2 calls from this company today. One with the 0027 number, and another at 314-839-0037. The calls were received 9 minutes apart. When I looked up the second number, it was for a salon somewhere in Missouri. No messages were left. Clearly this company is using illegal collection tactics if they are actually collecting a debt. I plan on contacting my attorney general's office, as well as the office of the AG in the state of MIssouri. I suggest everyone else do the same, as their behavior is against our rights, as well as illegal.
i received a call from 314-839-0027 burns smith [***]. from monica . looking for my husband and he is working wont tell me anything. My husband is going through chapter 7 bankrupsy so i gave her lawyers #. i know all his bills where put in bankrupsy he does not owe anyone now. But she said she was sending cops to his job for him. What should i do? can she do that? I have MS and she upset me so bad i feel so sick now!
A debt collector isn’t allowed to make threats that they don’t intend —or aren’t permitted by law—to carry out. For instance, a debt collector can’t issue a warrant for someone’s arrest, and not paying a debt isn’t a crime. Don't let them bully you! Let his lawyers know that they are harassing you!
