I'll probably locate your family and do the same to them. I'll get away with it, too, because it's not armed robbery but just an inconvenient transfer of wealth. You won't bust me because I will soon know everything I need about you, while I make certain you know nothing about me. I'm covered in the event of a lawsuit, so don't bother complaining to anyone. Either pay me or get used to being dead.
By the way, the leading cause of death of a person's rights is apathy. "Shady collection" shops everywhere thank you for your support.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I got a call back to back blocked # left me a message to call with a court case# on my tel# but it was not for .I called and tried to explain that it was the wrong# the guy was very rude . Explain that they disclosed personal information , they did not want to hear it.
This number also called me and left a voicemail. The caller id said it was from Huntington Beach, CA. I live on the other side of the country. They said my name and number and address came up in an investigation and I need to call back today so the record shows I am cooperating. They left a different phone number and a case number. After reading the previous comments I won't be calling them back.
I have received a call about a friend debt they keep calling me everyday I tell them the only way I talk to her is through Facebook they call me back today with a file number and said they were going to send the law after me I have nothing to do about her debts I am going tomorrow and talking to the law to see what I can do about this
