I got the same call this morning. I reported them to Federal Trade Commission for fraudulently impersonating an Federal Agent. They couldn't get their story right. The first guy said i didn't anwer a certified letter for Tax Evasion, than the second agent he transfered me to, when I questioned why I didn't get a missed delivery notification said it was served in person.
basically same as above. He threatened to put us behind bars which I believe would not be the term used by a federal agent. Also said there were certified mailings which we did not respond to, which we never received. When he confirmed our address I told him we hadn't lived there for 3 years. He asked what our current address was and I told him if you are with the US Government you would know that. also wanted our lawyers address
Got a phone call and decided to check the number before we did anything else. The woman said she was from the treasury department it was a legal matter but wouldn't say more.
I just got the same call claiming a legal lawsuit against me. When I asked for an 800# to call him back he hung up on me. Then he called back asking me why I hung up on him!!! Can you believe that? So I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. When the "other" guy got on the phone I asked him to send me an official letter about this matter. He want it to read that to me and I stoped him asking again to mail it to me. He got upset and he hung up on me!!!
I just got the same kind of phone call. Said I would be arrested in 2 hours. Had most of my name correct but wrong address. Who should we report these knuckle heads to?
