I do not know who that was. When I spoke with him, I asked him his name. He asked for my name. I asked him if he really was an agent with the Treasury Department and told him that it is a federal crime to impersonate a Treasury Department official.
We received a threatening message from this number too identifying themselves as calling from the US Treasurey. We called back and they hung up. We tried again and they hung up. Fishing for something...
Someone identified himself as Steve Martin of the US Treasury called and left several message, insisted either pick up or call back as it is a chance to let him help me. This is very obvious a scam, IRS, US Treasury or any other government agencies do not CALL, they send notices. I believe the government should take notice and trace him (her) and do not let this happen again, it can hurt elderly and people who do not understand the system much and very afraid of getting into trouble.
I have been getting the same calls from the alleged Steve Martin from the US Treasury from this phone number. He claims we are under criminal investigation. It's obviously bogus.
Got 2 calls from a Steve Martin, claiming we are under criminal investigation. Left message, has a foreign accent. Rec'd a second message, same song, same verse, but from a 916-276-2430. Obviously a scam!
