This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number. Now why would a “process server” want to do you, a stranger, a favor, and at the same time not get paid to deliver the papers?
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

These people called pretending to be the "Office Of Investigation" and sounded just like some entitled arrogant authority with an badge and gun then she started asking about an old acquaintance I hadn't seen in a long time. I asked her what authority she worked for and she became more demanding and I told her I hadn't seen the person of interest in a long while then she said I shouldn't worry about it and hung up on me. Tried doing a free reverse look up with no results. There is defiantly something very shady going on with this number.
they called me also with the tile office of investigation pre-trial. the lady's name was morgan Newhart and she used a nick name not my legal name?
I asked her how she got my number and she said a government database. she asked for my sister in law?
she called back and my sister in law says that it is someone collecting for alleged payday loans that she never took out and never listed me as a reference.

This person, Morgan Newhart, called claiming to be an investigator from Royal and Assoc. Investigations and using ph# (832) 532-4207, called my landline and cell #, looking for contact info. on a family member we have not been in contact with for years. When we didn't have any info, to give her, she became aggressive, threatening and abusive! Our ph#'s have been on the Do Not Call Registry since "2006" and I made it a formal complaint against her and her so-called company.
