I get a call from 1-330-433-5970 several times a day. Usually, I miss the call and there is no message on my voicemail. When I do answer it, there is just dead air. I have called the number back, and the automated answering service says that I have reached "Credit Services" and then asks me to input my account number. I had recently opened a Banana Republic Card, so I called Banana and asked about this phone number. The customer service agent was not familiar with the phone number, but told me that my account was past due and it could have been a courtesy call reminding me to make a payment. I thought that my account was in good standing, and he told me that sometimes new card holders don't receive their first statement and their account goes past due. He was very helpful and he waived the finance charge and late fee and said that the phone calls should stop. So----double check that your accounts are in good standing-----call your credit card company--even if you think that you have closed your account, sometimes there are finance charges that carry over----so even if you think that you have a $0 balance or your account is closed-----check your statements for at least 2 -3 months after.
Thanx that worked. In fact they are collectors for Gap, Bananna republic and Old navy. My payment got delayed in the mail received last day and they were killing me by phone calls with none on the other side at all my numbers. I got scared by them asking social when I called back. But then did the same thing that u've said wrong social wrong zip and got connected to customer service which confirmed the payemnet and apologized.
I've got two calls today for the first time at 10:28a and 12:16p. I missed both, but went online to double check my payment status for my Gap account. I have a $350 payment that is showing as "Processed" three days ago. WTH? I made a sizable payment within the time frame, that is showing up as being processed, and that's still not good enough?? I'm keeping the phone handy so I can rattle off the ref. ID I have for the payment.
So because the payment is processing instead of in your hands today I get called? It's a Sunday; do they think I have some super powers to make my bank finish processing the funds on a day they are closed?
