My daughter received a call from 330-479-0002 on 10/4 at 7:30pm. The caller made some statements about premature babies and babies born with defects; She also said they'd be sending some literature. The wife thinks this was the March of Dimes. My wife has worked with the organization in the past (in a different state). I'm unsure if an address was confirmed with my kid. My number is unlisted and changed about a year ago. I remain suspicious that this was, in fact, the March of Dimes.
These people call all the time. When I answer the phone no one is there. When I press *69, I am told the number, but when I try to call it, I am told the usual "The number called can not be reached". Does it do any good to file this complaint? Shouldn't this stuff be illegal?
Keep receiving calls from this number. This time someone actually talked to me and requested I mail letters to neighbors asking for contributions for the March of Dimes. Received calls previously, caller ID indicates Canton, Ohio. Am on "Do Not Call List" -- doesn't seem to work. Don't believe in telephone solicitation for money, whether it be the March of Dimes or who. You can never be too sure these days.
