330-479-0002 called, and like the rest, it's disconnected. must be the "season" for these scams... we just had another call, different number, that was supposed to be the cancer research fund... looked it up herein, and yup, it was a scam.
I can relate to pretty much all of the above. Luckily I discovered a feature on my Embarq phone service called Anomymous Call Rejection which blocks all incoming calls from ringing my phone when they ID themselves as "Unknown Caller" or "Unidentified" even if they provide a number as in this 330-479-0002 person. I didn't know I had the feature, but a quick punch of *77 gave me a double beep and let me know that the feature was indeed activated. Haven't had any more bogus calls since then:)
This number is registered as "unknown." When I try to call the number back, I get a message that the number has been disconnected. They call our home number at least twice a day for about a month now.
Got a call at 01-07-08 8:30 pm picked up the phone and all I got was music in the background and then was disconnected(330)479-0002. Did not call back.
