Called twice in two days. Rings until answering machine picks up and hangs up. I searched the reverse phone directories and can only get info if I pay which I would be crazy to do.

Lately I've been seeing this number on my caller I.D. No message is left on my machine - I called the number back. I think it said it was Reiner (sp) and Associates. It said they were calling on behalf of one of their political, non-profit or business to business associates and gave an option to leave a message for a return call. I didn't leave a message. I'm on the do not call list - I have no idea why I'm getting these calls.
You're getting these calls (especially now with the elections coming) because ANY company you've done business with before and any non profit group can still call you - even if you're on the do not call list. I wish there was a way around the non profit calls, though. :(
Twice daily phone calls from this number. I've not been there during the day to answer, but they never leave a message, just dead air on the answering machine. Couldn't find any info on the number using reverse lookups, but googling it took me to this site. I had assumed this was a political survey or fundraising effort, what with the elections and all, and what I'm reading here seems to support that. My phone is also on the do-not-call registry, however, it is important to note that non-profits/charities and political groups are not bound by the DNC list (for obvious reasons--the politicians aren't going to outlaw one of their key fundraising options!)
I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK. MACHINE SAID TO GO TO (CALLMEYER.COM) TO REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THEIR LIST OR STAY ON AND WAIT FOR AN OPERATOR. I WAITED AND ASKED TO BE PUT ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST. 3 HOURS LATER THEY CALLED AGAIN. TOLD PERSON NOT TO CALL AGAIN. WENT TO DO NOT CALL REGISTRY AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE COMPANY'S NAME IS "MEYER TELESERVICES".
