I just got a message from this number threatening to forward a statement to their client if I don't respond. They didn't say who they were calling for or from. This call came barely a week after my debit cards were hacked... Not calling back. Seems shady to me.
call from this "company" to both of my phone numbers. threatened legal action and wanted to know if I wanted to submit a statement. When I questioned the debt they said Oakwood Mgmt. I questioned from when. They hung up on me. I called back, they placed me on hold then cut me off. I called back again, cannot leave a message because mailbox is full..........total a scam call to get money from people!
This number called my home phone (which I have only had 4 months) asking for me by my maiden last name (been married 7 years) saying I took a payday loan out online in 2010 (I haven't taken one out since 2005 in a local branch) using an address I hadn't lived at in 6 years, an email address I haven't used in 8 years, and they had my social security number and recited it to me. They stated I owed on this loan that I didn't take out and were very polite and understanding, however did not budge on their terms. If I paid immediately, I could pay about $400. I told her I only work 1 day a week and could make payments, but they would have to be small payments. She put me on hold (8pm to call the original lender?) and came back on stating that if I paid $600 right away, they would consider it paid in full instead of going through the courts. I work 1 day a week, have 6 kids. I didn't take out the loan. She never asked my current address and stated they would have to take court action. I don't make enough for them to garnish and don't own any property - I told her to have fun.
