CID indicated "ALERT." I picked up the phone but did not say anything. After a few seconds the robo call started to deliver info about a Medicare supplementary plan. This caller's approach is really deceptive. Using "ALERT" suggests an imminent threat of some kind, especially if you have signed up for alerts from a local government entity or an alert from you home security provider. I would never sign up for any Medicare program that uses this approach.
THIS CALL IS FROM SOME COMPANY OUT OF OHIO (330) PUSHING MEDICAL ALERT SYSTEMS, SUPPOSEDLY THRU AARP. YOUR DOCTOR OR PRIMARY DOCTOR REFERRED YOU FOR THIS EQUIPMENT (I BET). YOUR GET THE SYSTEM PLUS A $3000 GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR YOUR GROCERIES. EVERYTHING IS FREE. NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE. WHAT A SCAM.
2/3/15 at 12:33 pm landline Caller ID said Salineville, OH. Have received numerous calls with same recording: "Don't hang up. This is not a sales call." Your Dr. referred you for a free medical system plus you receive $3,000 in grocery coupons!
No Dr. would ever violate the patient privacy law HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) by giving the name of a patient to anybody without the patient's permission.
Don't know how these crooks plan to cheat people out of money, but do know it is all a lie. Don't think AARP would really be involved either.
got a call from Salineville, Ohio at 9:57 this morning, did not answer, let them hang up then added the number to my PlugnBlock (best $39.00 I have spent)
