Caller claimed to be GOOGLE and wanted to verify business information. Why call my home? Indiscriminate robo-calling hoping to score a sucker! Caller I.D. said the caller was "LOCAL RANKING COMPANY", calling from area 330 - not even close to my area! Where can I buy a SCAMMING PACKAGE? Is this stuff a franchise or what? The telephone equivalent to street panhandlers? From BUSINESS FUNDING SCAMS to MEDICAL PRODUCT SCAMS to this SCAM - it never ends ...
The DO NOT CALL system does not work at all. Thank goodness for call-block. I hope that my phone does not run out of space.
we receive multiple calls a day from this number and it shows on caller ID as Local Ranking Co. They claim to want to update our google listing and seem affiliated with Google, but apparently they are not. I have pressed 9 on numerous calls to be removed from the list, but after a couple of days the calls will start again from another number. I have spoken with the representatives from the company who claim to remove our number from the list, but the calls continue. Now when I receive the calls I tell all the staff to not say anything and place the call on mute until it hangs up. This is harassment and I find it unbelievable that nothing can be done about it.
They are not with Google. They are usually offshore (think India) so domestic law is of no consequence to them. They make 1 million calls hoping to find one sucker.
this number calls with the ID "Local Ranking Co." tells us to "update your Google listing." our # is not a business, therefore we have no Google listing. calls 2x/day. annoying.
