This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

After I applied for loans online they called with a thick Middle Eastern accent and an American name. He said I was approved for $10,000 from Eloans.com and that I needed to make a payment of 821 for down payment. I had to pay using a MoneyPak. Then he called and said I needed to pay 750 for insurance. In the end this man has 1,571 dollars of my and my family's money. I have no money. The police will not help me.
they called 3 times before we noticed the phone had been ringing (was on vibrate). On answering, a tthick indian accented man asked for me and then told me I was approved for a loan. when I told him I didn't apply for a loan, he was silent. I asked how he got my information and he hung up on me. I called him back and he answered as some financial services company (didn't understand the name) I said he just called telling me I was approved for a loan and I wanted to know more. he said he did not speak to. me before and hung up.
