I've been getting these same calls for about a month now! It is disgusting. I myself am a debt collector and I knew right away that this was a scam! First he couldn't speak english, and he violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act -BIG TIME!!!. First and foremost it is a law for any 3rd party collection agency to state the Mini miranda. (which I don't won't to give them any ideas on what they need to say.) Then you can't call more then one time a day once you have made contact with the debtor....And lastly by law if any debt collector calls you at home or work and you ask them to stop calling you- they have to remove your phone #. On my first conversation with this sorry a** person I knew it was a hoax, but at first I played around with him and told him to send me the information by mail. And he went on threating me. I told him he was in violation of the FDCPA and he should be ashamed for trying to take advantage of innocent people. I laughed at him and told him to go get a real job. My advice to anyone out there who may be unsure who they are talking to is to request something by mail, because you have 30 days to dispute the validity of a debt. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU INTO GIVING OUT YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION. You can make a complaint with your Attorney Generals office and the FTC. I've tried blocking the phone # but they do have others numbers as well. I even got crazy on this guy this past weekend, and told him I will come pay him and asked where he lived so I could pay him in person. I told him I would be happy to come and cut him into tiny pieces. LOL....and he's still calling! Oh! and when I asked him to send me something regarding whatever it is he thinks I owe, he told me he would send me a condom! These people need to really get a life!

There are two men from this phone number calling me, under the guise of being a collection agency. They want me personal banking information to pay a debt off. They will not give me the name of their company, and when I Googled the address they supplied to me, it came up as a Cleaning Service in NY. When I refused to supply my Banking info., they called me about 20-30 times in a 8 hr period when I was at work, on my work phone. I asked them to discontinue calling me at work, and Mr. Michael Cooper and William Carter told me that they will call me everyday, all day, at my place of employment. I want to know how to go about stopping these harassing phone calls. Also they disclosed my personal info to co-workers and my subordinates at work.
This answered a lot of questions for me. These people called me at work and pulled the same garbage. They would not identify themselves and tried to get my bank account number. I have a loan out but it's being paid off and I am in good standing with the company. This is definitely a scam. I'll be reporting these people to anyone and everyone I can and hopefully something will be done about them.
THIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.
