I've been getting these same calls for about a month now! It is disgusting. I myself am a debt collector  and I knew right away that this was a scam! First he couldn't speak english, and he violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act -BIG TIME!!!. First and foremost it is a law for any 3rd party collection agency to state the Mini miranda.  (which I don't won't to give them any ideas on what they need to say.) Then you can't call more then one time a day  once you have made contact with the debtor....And lastly by law if any debt collector calls you at home or work and you ask them to stop calling you- they have to remove your phone #. On my first conversation with this sorry [***] person I knew it was a hoax, but at first I played around with him and told him to send me the information by mail. And he went on threating me. I told him he was in violation of the FDCPA and he should be ashamed for trying to take advantage of innocent people. I laughed at him and told him to go get a real job. My advice to anyone out there who may be unsure who they are talking to is to request something by mail, because you have 30 days to dispute the validity of a debt. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU INTO GIVING OUT YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION. You can make a complaint with your Attorney Generals office and the FTC. I've tried blocking the phone # but they do have others numbers as well. I even got crazy on this guy this past weekend, and told him I will come pay him and asked where he lived so I could pay him in person. I told him I would be happy to come and cut him into tiny pieces. LOL....and he's still calling!  Oh! and when I asked him to send me something regarding whatever it is he thinks I owe, he told me he would send me a condom! These people need to really get a life!
