IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. It has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
Just got a call this evening from this same clown. He states "he is from the state police headquarters and there is a legal lawsuit that has been filed against my name and there is an arrest warant that is supposed to be out against my name too If I want more info, I need to call Nathaniel Edwards within an hour and if I do not contact them within the next hour they will pursue legal action." Asked me to "kindly contact the attorney to see what I can do about this case". No name indicating who the message was specifically for.
Same exact message was left on my voicemail. Researched it a bit and there was a press release by the NY attourny general regarding this number today. Said dont call it back and it is a scam. Hopefully this stops
Just received the same vague message from "Officer Calvin" something or other with Badge #27 from the "State Police Headquarters", there's a lawsuit filed against my name and an arrest warrant is going to be issued. I need to contact Nathaniel Edwards immediately to see what can be done about this case.
