Calls About Car Warrenty. I own no car. pressed 1 dude asked make and model of my car. I replied I dont own a vehicle. he hung up. call about once a month
Just an FYI: I just spoke with the FTC and their representative told me there was nothing they could do about these calls because the company is using their IP addess to assume other companies numbers (usually ones that are disconnected) to bypass caller ID blocks. They have many numbers including the one you have and others that show a "062" area code. The only advice the FTC gives is to hang up as soon as you get the call or you will end up cycling further into their database. Their only goal is to get people to give their credit card numbers so they can make fraudlent charges. I asked why the FTC didn't set up a fake credit card number so they could trace the bogus charges and they said their investigators are looking into it. The FTC rep also said her parents have been recieving these calls for over two years and she can't help them. If they can't help their own, they surely can't help us.
This same number has called our home several times claiming to be an Authorized Extended Warranty Company. Every time we asked to be removed from there list. They still call. I went along with there little scam and when I asked to speak to a supervisor the man said "what makes you think I would let you" I told him to stop being a jerk and he hung up on me. Do not even talk to these people they must be crooks or they would act far more professionally. I tried to call the number back but it is disconnected.
I get calls from this "vehicle warranty company" several times a week at home. They sometimes leave a message but sometimes do not. They warn me that my car will be reclassified if i do not respond and that this is their final attempt to contact me...if only that were true! The text on my caller ID reads: New Smyrna B FL.
both of these numbers are a scam. Been getting them all month. One about car insurance reduction. Today I picked the phone up while there machine was still rattling their message about cardmember services about getting a lowere interest rate, waited a few seconds than some guy picked up and said cardmember services who am I speaking with today. Expected me to give my name and account (DON'T DO IT!) I asked, I'd like to know who I am speaking with. He hung up! That was the 062#. Later in the day they called back on the 386# no message. I called the number back. It is a disconnected number. One which no one can do anything about because someone has hacked in.
