Well they are still up to it, only now he has a lady friend calling from Howell, MI on 517-518-7024. Only difference was instead of "have a blessed day" she said I should have my attorney call her back. Really?
Total scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan.

They left a message that i am being investigated for tax evasion and fraud, unless i call this no. my case will go forward in the federal court and will subsequently be arrested by local county sheriff. The first message i got identified himself as agent so and so and it would in my best interest to call before he files a federal case against me w/o specifying what for. Likewise, my wife received a similar call about her tax fraud case, luckily, i was the one who answered the phone, the man is clearly has an indian accent. I told him i prepare taxes for a living then he hang up. of course I lied!! but it is annoying to say the least.
Same deal - tax evasion and fraud from IRS, threatens arrest by the County Sheriff in my city. Not sure why the city or county would do anything in regards to an IRS issue since that is federal. Left a message wanting me to call them back - oh and have a blessed day. I actually do work in Tax - have a Master of Science in Taxation and have been in this profession for 20+ years. Wow! Are people really this stupid? I would say call type is scam - not prank but that is not a choice.
Same call as detailed above. Left a message on my answering machine.I tried to call them back to see what they would say. The phone never rang...it sounded like the phone had been answered but there was no one there. I was going to dare them to come and arrest me.
Received call @ 8;30a.m. Left voice message claiming to be the IRS and I was being investigated for tax invasion and fraud. If I did not call them back they would send the case to Federal Court and I would be arrested by the County Sheriff. Voice was a well spoken Indian. Told me to have a blessed day.
I would prefer to report this call as "scam" but that's not one of the call type options.
