1. Cold caller pretend to be IRS,
2. Tells you terrible things are going to happen to all your assets,
3. Tells you that he or she can make the whole thing go away if
4. You send them some money by some untraceable means.
And that's about it.
Been around a while, women seem particularly vulnerable.
"This is officer Mike Watson. Have your attorney call us today. Don’t disregard this message. If I don’t hear from your attorney by today, I wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you.”
It's a scam. The guy has a thick Indian accent and wants to scam you out of your hard earned money! Tell him to go f*ck off.
Just found a voicemail on my cellphone. As above, a man with a thick Indian accent said he was Officer Mike Watson and said I or my attorney had to call him back at 571-290-2043 and not disregard the call or all he could do was "wish you luck as the situation unfolds on you". I hope he calls back when my phone isn't off.....
I just received the same message and the phone sent it straight to voicemail ( as Im sure they programmed it to do) and I did not get the chance to answer the call and talk to him directly. If I had, he definitely would have received a piece of my mind and maybe a few threats in return!
This person, who can't even speak English, tried to claim to be the IRS. The individual said I have not paid taxes for four years, and that my bank accounts would be frozen, along with property being bought by the government. When I asked for what personal information they had on file for me, they refused to answer.
