Received numerous calls from this number. When asked who they are trying to reach I am told you! So I ask who is you! Then I get cursed out and hung up on.
IRS tax legal scam...claims to be the US Treasury, says there is an IRS case against me and then drops a bunch of f-bombs after I say that is interesting
Have received calls from this number for past 2 days. Did not answer. Yesterday, only a partial message was recorded, like the end of it: "For you. Thank you Goodbye." Today the voice message was much longer, the English grammar was very poor and when my husband listened to the message, he said it sounded as if someone was calling from India. The message was very vague. I suspect this is a phishing scam, trying to scare someone into giving them money for a supposed problem.
The transcript of the message is as follows: "This message is intended to contact J*******. Hi this is John Steve with-the(?) department to offer-legal(?) up here and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal(?) notification for you in regards to the enforcement actions that have been started on your name number to reach me is 571-339-3018 and you are busy to call back. I would suggest you to have you already did attorney to do it for you as delaying in calling might end up into our legal match for you. I hope you a date this Friday and call me back. This is John Steven again with the department legal up here looking forward to speak to you. I did that and have a great day."
Got a hang up call yesterday (2/27/2015) from this number. Got another one this Saturday morning which woke me up at 7:30 am. It was a live person this time saying that I was named in an investigation. When I asked "how do I know this isn't a scam?" they hung up. Sounded like an Indian woman calling on a noisy connection with long distance hissing on the line.
This was on my voice mail. It sounded an automated system says James Martin from Internal Revenue Service call me back immediately at 571-339-3018. Kindly note any delay will result in a legal mess for you.
