This is a "charity" solicitation from the Northern Virginia Coalition of Firefighters. When I asked what percentage of their funds went to actual good use the representative said "Oh, a lot!". Right. I'm going to try to find out the details. You were wise not to pick up.
The guy called me with the same "nice to hear a happy voice" saying. I asked how much went towards the organization and what it was for. He said the funds went for continuing education of life saving skills...which seemed odd to me.He said he was not sure and did not want to give me inaccurate info. He gave me a 1800 number to call and through that you can get off their call list. The number was a recording and I have found no verifying information for this organization anywhere on the web so I was not about to take their recorded info as accurate. Hope this helps.
