I can tell you that debt collectors have a history of harassing innocent people by calling either outdated or inaccurate numbers. In fact this is something that I have personally experienced. I believe my calls were connected to had the number before me. They refused to accept that they had the wrong number. The only time I had luck was when it was directly from the collection department of the original bank. I have since learned that I should have sent a cease and desist letter by certified mail to the operation in question.
IF the alleged debt is in your name, tell them to send a verification letter by mail. Do not let them talk you into sending it by email.
I was just wondering where this call originated. They called my cellphone on 3-14-16 @ 2:05pm asking for someone named Brian Banks , I told them that they had the wrong number and they hung up.
I just got a call from this phone number, the person (a man, sounded American) asked for a woman's name... can't remember now because I had two phone calls while I was typing this and forgot! lol The last name of the person he wanted to talk with was Grambling or Gambling, I think. Anyway I said "You have the wrong number, there is no one named _____ (and I repeated the name) here." He said "Well just sue her then" or maybe "We'll just sue her then" and hung up.
I immediately called the number back to STRESS that he had the wrong number... and got a voice message for an "Eric" someone, got transferred, apparently, to a voice mailbox (bet THAT gets full in a hurry), and I expressed my displeasure at being called on my home phone by someone threatening legal action against someone I don't even know! Then said "I'm going to report this number."
And I am. To the FTC.
Got multiple calls and messages from a Jason Neff from Equity Legal Services stating that I have an unresolved legal matter that I need to call him back to discuss. Also called a famiy member and left multiple messages with same statement. States the last 4 of my ss# and that charges will be filed with my county if I don't try to settle this matter with him quickly. Reported number to the FTC. What a bunch of crap!
Same caller and boy is Jason a rude person. I still have no idea who or what I owe cause all I got was rude name calling and a threat to sue me... he then hung up.
Nasty little boy harassed all my family members saying I owe money and called me a f*** loser and dead beat once I was able to call and find out what the deal was. Jason Neff or Ness is a utter jack$$s that needs a spanking.
