Please see my former post for background on this call. I did check with my attorney who tried to contact both number. When calling the number 949-299-6008 a message indicated that this was not a working number. When calling the 571-527-8663 number there were two messages. The first time called a message indicated that all of the long distance circuits were busy and to call back. The second time called we received a message that the wireless customer you are calling is not available. My attorney indicated that the IRS would send written communication for any business they conduct and to ingore these messages. I love 800Notes for giving us a forum to beat these [***]! Thank you!
Received a phone message twice on March 25th indicating that the IRS was filing a law suit against me. I was advised to call 571-527-8663 immediately. I received the same exact message with the same voice on March 4th but from a different number (949-299-6008). If you look up the latter number here you will see that other callers received similar messages and all believe it to be a prank. I wouldn't think that the IRS would make such a call, especially without sending anything in writing. I am checking with my attorney just to be sure but I believe this to be a prank caller. I will follow up here after I hear back from my attorney.
