call from this number, idk who would be calling me from this number, soooo i don't answer, and advise others to do the same. sigh, yes, even i get these scam calls.
What your getting is illegal callers such as scammers, fraud, extortion scams and a lot of those are from foreign country's.. Only legitimate business's pay for the list. But the DNC is not a call blocking device or phone either. Charity, some surveys and political calls are exempt as a matter of ROT and debt collections do not fall under the DNC list, but rather under the FDCPA & TCPA laws.
If you take your name & number off the list then legitimate company's can also call on top of all those illegitimate calls. Some folks also do not realize that the company's - such as a phone company, they do do business with also have to stop calling when you tell them or one of their affiliates, to not call you. I generally recommend that one follow that up by written sent via USPS certified mail. Make sure you state that as them and their affiliates.
Just updating my earlier post regarding these people. They called again this morning and I asked the caller to identify himself. He said he was "Mike" from J & B Associates. Again they tried to solicit a magazine subscription and again I refused and told them take me off their list or I would file charges against them. I googled this company and they are located in Meza, AZ. Apparently they buy people's information from magazine companies and then try to sell them a new subscription. They are not BBB accredited according to the Arizona BBB website.
BBB accreditation means nothing more than the company paid a few extra dollars to the BBB for it. Many, many companies are not accredited but are legitimate and treat their customers fairly. This company wants to violate the DNC laws, which gives you a very good shot at a TCPA suit and big bucks in your pocket. You first need to lay a paper trail. Send them a certified, return receipt letter telling them to put you on their internal and external DNC lists and to send you a copy of their written DNC policy (something they are required by law to do and gives you more ammo if they don't). File complaints with the DNC and your State AG. Then sue them.

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
