DO NOT give them any info as this is a phishing scam, plain and simple. The caller identifies him/herself as a representative of Verity Energy USA, and then asks if you noticed the stuffer in your last PPL bill offering a KWH/hr rate reduction. They then try to get your account info. I responded that I was at work and could not review my bill at that time, and asked that they call back. I Googled them and no such company exists. If they DO exist, they are certainly not affiliated with PPL. When trying to call them back, you get a canned recording every time about reaching the "Department of Energy Procurement." There is no mention of Verity or PPL in the message, believe it or not. (They must use several company names for this scam.) You are then prompted to enter an extension. All entries lead to your call being cut off immediately UNLESS you decide to talk with sales. (ext. 3) A sales rep then comes on trying to pitch the same scam.
I wouldn't give my $$ to any business in Texass. Texas is out to destroy the middle class & strengthen the power of the neo-con far rightys, through using any means available to steal businesses from other states. Parasites. Just say no to illiterate Governor Rick Perry & his cronies!
