I don't recall we were asking about Sheriff issues in PA.  I consider that a local matter and of little general interest outside PA.  I don't recall seeing anything in that web link from 3 hours ago about Keystone being a collection arm of PA Sheriffs.
The topic is Keystone and their collections from individuals.  Focus on that.  Focus on my question about being associated with FMR.

The orignal person I responed to said to contact the Lehigh County Sheriff to report this collection attempt.
Posted by Maria Gomez "Report this number to the Lehigh County Sheriff's Office (610-782-3175) to get these scummy harassers shut down.". I simply stated this was the wrong place to report, because this was a northampton cty tax collector and because they have no real duties to investigate.
I have no knowledge of Keystone being Forward Movenment Recovery. All Maria said was Keystone. Since there is a Keystone in Pa and since 610 is an area code in Pa and since Keystone collects taxes in that area code, you draw the line. I lookedup Forward andthey are in New York. I see no mention of Keystone being attached to forward movenment.

You never did explain why you're here. Did you receive a call from this number or are you just trying to do damage control?

Maria Gomez was posting about a well known debt scammer FMR, who also operates as Keystone Collections. They are a phony debt collector and debt buyer.  I don't think you have any idea what FMR and Keystone Collections does, and you rationed out bs on Maria without having a clue what is going on.
Quote:I think you should learn how to use the internet and not spout stupid ideas.Better look in the mirror.  On this board, in this thread, she was 110% right.  And you are advising her about how to use the internet?  And worse, your legal knowledge on the matter is dangerously inaccurate as applies to Maria.
FYI:
FMR and Keystone are known for illegally harassing people who have no debts at all.  They will call your mom and tell her there is an unpaid loan and the cops are on the way to arrest her and toss her into jail.  They will then call mom's job and tell them they are looking for her with a warrant.  They will call family and friends and if they can get any response at all, they will call 10 or more times a day.  Maria is not wrong by suggesting calls to the cops.  Don't know about PA, but the cops down here take an active interest.

Either you are terribly confused about crooked debt scammers or you are a busted Shill who has no idea which way to run now that the lights are on.  So I have opened your eyes or set your shilly/troll butt straight.

Clearly a debt collection scam of some sort.

You should report this to local law enforcement.  They may not be able to o much but they can inform the public and the media.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.
