It's probably a bogus electric company switch scam. thank you PENNSLTUCKEY - for eliminating the rate caps so that those of us on the PA DO NOT CALL LIST and NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST can receive these m-er f-ing calls.
They called a few times but hung up without leaving any message on my answering machine. After another such call today, I called them back. The gentleman on the other end said it was to do with fundraising for veterans. I pointed out that my number is on a Do Not Call list and he said he would remove it from their database. We shall see.
This number (Caller ID said: Allentown, PA) appeared in my missed call log SEVERAL times. I called back today and got a simple, "Hello?" I asked to be taken off their calling list. The voice said, "Not a problem," and hung up on me. I called back, got the "Hello?", and said, "Do you need my phone # to take me off your calling list?" The voice said, "Not a problem. I apologize. I'll take care of that." And hung up again.
