When i answered there was no one there so I called back and got an automated operator saying I had reached Rodale Books and to enter my account number which I never have nor never will be a member of.
No, it will not work to write to them, it will not work to tell them to remove your number. They keep quiet for a couple of weeks, then they start again. I had a subscription with them last year and let it run out without renewal. Ever since, they are calling several times a week, sometimes 2-3 times a day. They obviously do not give a dime about your privacy and certainly are a case to report. They are calling from different numbers, caller ID shows "Pennsylvania" most of the time.
Slim's got a point. We can't rely on the government to stop all the calls. The DNC has done some good, but it's not foolproof. You can buy call-blocking hardware, or as an alternative, most landline and cell carriers offer blocking services for minimal cost (usually around $5/month). I don't mind paying a little extra to stop the calls.
