Maybe this scammer is "crazy like a fox". By spoofing an obviously spoofed number, he's "pre-screening" his potential victims. Anyone who doesn't notice the impossible number, is more likely to overlook other flaws in his scam. Good con artists don't just pick their marks randomly, they look for easy prey.
Just got a call and didn't answer. 647-000-1234 like am I an idiot??? I wish we could block calls like we do on cell phones....the freakin price we pay.....sigh
