Who called from 6474783596

A regular pest who periodically calls on my cell number.
The usual shady near criminals who go door to door to sell you new furnaces, new ducts, or water heaters for hundreds of dollars more than any honest firm who doesn't call you.
Why did the Harris government deregulate energy years ago.  Ontarians continue to be cheated by the "competitive market" created.

647-478-3596 shows up on our name/number display as an "out of area caller". But the real area 647 is a local call for us. So they are obviously spoofing their number, for starters. Anyone who trusts these guys is likely in for a nasty surprise.

Using 647-478-3596, an Unknown male caller called my home before 9pm, Mon.Aug.18 RE: 'inspectors on our street doing free home furnace/AC/water heater inspections to give rebates if energy efficient and wanted to give free 15minute inspection'. There was no mention of the company or intent to replace old furnace or AC or water heater for energy rebates.

I asked his company name. He mentioned "...Ontario Eco Energy..." and the man asked the age of our furnace.  When I told him we have a new high efficiency furnace and AC and have received energy efficient rebates for those, he said he would put us down as energy efficient.  I said ok and thank you.  End of call.

I asked facts and provided facts so no need for door to door decisions which I term “in your face decisions which one may make under duress; not the informed due diligence decision that homeowner ought to make.

The link to their site is not rated and has a question mark with cautionary warning given by antivirus.  I dialed their toll free number a day or two later but the automated response from Bell says we are sorry your call cannot be placed as dialed.

It is extremely disheartening to know that people much older than we are such as our parents (grandparents, seniors) are being coerced, forced, conned, and robbed of finances through such types of calls as well as substandard work done that leads to new and different types of issues needing addressing and repair. Why because they trust or do not see the nature of the sales pitch.

Unfortunately, it’s these unsolicited callers (this one displayed number 647-478-3596) and the bothersome duct cleaners (may display “Private” or some Ontario area code, legitimate or not) who claim they are calling from Ontario but may not be. I told one caller, why would I use your company, I do not know you and I did not choose to have this service done so why should I be listening to you let alone ask you to do work on my house when I do not want it done.  We are on the DO NOT CALL LIST but the companies and hired individuals in their sales and door to door do not appear to care.  We pay high taxes annually and are respectable, law abiding citizens; therefore, something needs to be issued to all such companies that solicit home numbers about proper identification and first respecting the DNC list.

I too am receiving calls from this number.  They don't say anything, so I called them and blasted them for bothering me, they hung up!!  Thanks for sharing this info, I don't feel bad now for yelling at the guy that hardly spoke English

This number just joined many others on my blocked call list.  I never answer calls which do not display a name - they are almost always scammers.  If it's a legitimate call, they will leave a message.
