1-647-492-7985 called right at 9am pretending to be from the CRA. Said if I didn't reply then CRA investigator will visit me. Well come on over - I'm always home!
One threatening phone call from a woman that could or would not answer my questions. She said that I was being charged with fraud and tax evasion. I was told that the local police would show up to arrest me in 45 minutes. Later in the day I got a recorded message about a tax debt collector coming to visit me within 24 hrs. Funny thing is, the phone number that they contacted me on is not associated with my mailing address or any of my CRA accounts. It did sound serious at first and the follow up recorded call adds to that. People should know about this scam.
same as other posts .Second time they left message and now they say they have began legal proceedings and will freeze my bank accounts if I don't respond in 24 hours. Said also they will be sending someone out to give me the paperwork
