This company is a solar panel company and they solicit homes to install solar panels on your home free of charge.
The deal is they install the panels and they get the income from these panels in return they will pay you 2 options:
the first is a lump sum of $3000.00 to rent your roof for 20 years ( works out to about $150.00 per year). They will maintain the panels for the 20 years and after wards you will own the panels and they can be connected to your hydro bill at that point and you will receive the income from the panels from that point on. It amounts to about 3000.00 a year for the remainder of the life of the panels, which last about 40 years.
The second option is you will get $400.00 per year for 20 years ( Total $8,000) and you will then own them afterwards as well.
This company does not work with Hydro One as Hydro one does not pay enough from the generation of electricity they produce to make it worth there while.
I would say this is an ecellant idea if you want to make some extra revenue for a space that you would have otherwise not used.
The solar panels also keep the snow off your roof as well as they are heated , and as you all know in canada this is a bonus thats worth taking.
Please read the contract carefully as some companies doing this have been known to take your house away if you don't abide by the rules of the deal.
