Told me I was going to get a $100 rebate for gas and a $500 gift certificate for retail stores. First thing I noticed was caller ID. HAD NO IDEA WHO WAS CALLING. I listened to his spiel and then he said he wanted $3.90 for shipping and handling and kept assuring me everything was free of charge?
Got a call today from these guys. Said I 'won' a $100 Gas Card & $400 Shopping gift card. Then wanted $1.95 shipping. Tried to pay with a Prepaid Visa that had a few $ left but not accepted, asked for another card. No thanks, not taking the chance. You don't have to pay fees for true winnings in Canada. Pretty persistent, called again about 5 times but I didn't bother answering the guy. Sadly it was a stereotype East-Indian accent.
Told me because I did a survey I get a $100 gas card and $500 shopping voucher. Wanted $1.95 for shipping. I told them to send it COD. He said he needed a credit card or debit card. I asked where they were calling from, he said "Brampton, Ontario, Rewards Centre". I said for which company. He replied "Shopping Discount Clubs of Canada". He gave me two numbers and a website to "verify" them:

I went to the website, and it's just an index with 2 files in it. Not very professional for a shopping club website. He said his name is William Parker, and based on his east Indian accent, I would say it's not likely his real name. After spending over 15 minutes on the phone with him, I told him that no one in their right mind would give a credit card number to someone that just called them over the phone. He was pretty pushy and tried to tell me that I can track the payment with my bank and make sure that I only get charged $1.95, etc, but I wasn't buying it. I told him to email me (he asked for my email address earlier), and he said it could only be completed by phone. I said I wasn't interested, and he hung up.
