This person with a very fake sounding french accent said they were from CRA Canada Revenue Service. Then some unintelligable crap about some legal action. You would think if people were going to try this sort of scam they would at least get the name of the government agency correct. If Canada Revenue was calling about something they would certainly know your name.

Now they are using a computer generated message for you to call back a specific number (I think a tool free number). The threat is that CRA is starting legal action and that you need to reply promptly.

Called back as private caller.
Asked to prove his authenticity.
Indian sounding guy threatens about showing up at my doorstep if I don't comply. Told him where to go.
Anything being done about this?
Received the same called and ended up calling the number. All they said was I was being investigated for taxes and that the police are on there way. The think I don't get is what is the scam here? Is it the long distance charges for the call?
