Mack: I got a bunch of these calls from various numbers in various locations (Washington, DC, New York City, California), but always the same thing--money giveaway from the Federal Government, need bank information, etc. I entertained the call and began asking questions--"what government department is this from?" "Is it State or Federal?" If they give me a department, I would ask "what is the division, that department has 16 divisions", "What is the name of the federal program that this is being administered under?", "Is this an overage from my taxes or a gift from some other federal grant?". Since you are asking someone with little English skills to go off script, they get frustrated. I've had them yell at me once but most of the time, they will repeat the scripted message or give you some response totally separate from the question and eventually will hang up. After a couple of these "interviews" I stopped getting calls. Worth a try.
Heavey accent. Just called and told me the government had money for me. When I start asking questions he got so angry
he told me "F*** Off. He then hung up on me.
