If you have a landline and want to block calls like this get your self a panasonic cordless phone. There phones have a program in them were you can block all kinds of calls. I have a set of the phones and I block every call so now no one calls.
Got a call from this number about 7:08PM CDT. I only answered the phone b/c I didn't have my glasses handy and couldn't see the number. My brother uses Google Talk to call me, and it's a different number all the time.
The caller asked for someone by name, a name I didn't recognize. I told him he had the wrong number. He then asked if my number was xxx-xxx-xxxx. I countered with, "who did you ask for." He repeated the name. Again, I could not understand what he was saying, but I knew it wasn't MY name. I said to him, "and I told you you had the wrong number." After a brief pause, he said, "okay," and terminated the call.
Something I thought was strange was that the phone number was preceded by a "1." I've never seen a long distance number show on my cell phone including the "1" which is required when making long distance calls on a landline. And unlike other calls, the number was displayed as +16502967201 -- no dashes. The guy had a VERY heavy Indian accent, which despite an online search indicating the number is from CA, I couldn't help but wonder if the call really originated in the US.
