How do these people manage to call but when you call back to try to find out who they are it is a "non-working number". Is there not something that can be done to stop these annoying callers who just hang up anyway.

Called no reply to asking "Who is there" and that I am on the "Do Not Call List". Then when I asked how "They" got this number. Caller said "I got it from your Wife" and began to harass and insult and threaten. This should be against the law that they can spoof CID and call "Un-listed numbers"
Called asking for my mother. I asked who it was. He said he was calling from the "Council of" something and I immediately knew it was a solicitor call, so I said, "No thank you. Please take us off your list." He started shouting to put my mother on, and I told him not to call again. He said he would keep calling. I told him to F off and hung up. This guy is a pos.
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
