Call from "research center," and when I asked to be removed from their calling list they said "there is no list to remove you from" and hung up on me. Dinner time Father's Day...nice.
This number called my home phone seven times between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on SUNDAY, June 15, 2014. I thought it was illegal to make telemarketing calls on Sunday. No caller ID except 650-396-2885, which some web sites say is in Mountain View, Calif. the number also called me yesterday afternoon, and twice the day before that. Some web sites say that the number is that of a cell phone, so the owner could be located anywhere
This is robocall telemarketer from the National Renewable Energy Center, promoting "home energy audits" for companies in LA, such as A1 Solar and GoGreen. They use dozens of spoofed telephone numbers. They have an F rating from the LA Better Business Bureau. They are abusive when you have the misfortune to talk to the misfits who call. They claim to be working with local utilities, which is how they get some people to agree to "free" home energy audit appointments. PGE reports that they are not associated with them.
More people need to complaint to the FCC, the federal Dept. of Justice, state Attorney General, local police, and your federal legislators to get some agency to get them to cease and desist illegal telemarketing.
Phone number is still live. Just called main company phone line. Didn't answer because it's an out of state number, so not sure if they are still a scammy telemarketer.
