This is a "Spoofed" Debt collection call. Call appears to be coming from California but the company is in Illinois.  Caller would not ID the company name. I was informed if they were calling my number there was a reason and to ID myself so the call could continue or they would just have the servicer do their job .. calling back regardless of time sends you to the voice mail for Vera Black.

NOTE: I do not live, nor have I in the last 10 years lived in the area code/city  they are calling. I live 3 states away. However they insinuated they were going to serve me in the old city.

Would have been an infuriating experience if it wasn't so sad, desperate and comical.

NOTE: I only have one unpaid debt from 2001. The credit card was stolen and I was issued a new credit card account. Somehow the old credit card kept the balance that was transferred over to the new credit card, which was paid. The issue was disputed and supposedly closed by Chase after I tried to take it to arbitration. Every few years I get calls on this account.
