Came home to three messages from this number. Thick Indian accent and hard to understand. I recognized it as phoney right away. Very annoying but made me laugh. These SOB's rely on people that believe it's true. I'm thinking that if I was wanted by the Fed's I would have known it way before these messages. I doubt we will ever be able to stop these idiots so just hang up or just delete these messages. I would not call any of these numbers back. Who knows what technology these scammers have at their disposal. For those among us who might be a wee bit gullible, never, and I mean NEVER give anyone your personal information! The world has changed since I was a kid making phony phone calls. Did we really believe someone would bolt out their front door to catch their refrigerator because we told them it was "running".
Definitely Indian scammers. I actually played their game. I called and spoke with "James Webb" with a very heavy Indian accent. I happen to have a prepaid phone that I have not used in months and planning to get rid of. Anyway, I used the prepaid phone and acted like I wad going to pay the. I was told that I owe IRS $3523.45 and if I choose to ignore or hangup, i'd be arrested within 1 hour. Anyway, I said I was going to pay and was told to go to the bank and withdraw the money to fund some kind of card. The person told me not to hangup the entire time and wanted to make sure i get the money. It was over an hour of conversation and I had a great time. I ended the conversation by saying "You a#&holes! I just scammed you." I'll call them everyday to pester them
Same Indian scammer. Told me I was in some sort of trouble with the law blah blah blah. It's a sorry state of America that these people have nothing better to do that cold call Americans, but even sadder that some are really on that side of the courts and probably fall for it. I haven't done anything wrong and don't owe anyone money that I don't know about, so I just laughed. But how is your government going to stop serious crime when they can't even enforce the do not call list?
According to the White pages (650) 690-8806 is Ymax Oration Landline in Palo Alto, CA. Ymax Oration is Magic Jack so you know they are scammers. I am trying to call Magic Jack to alert them to this scammer...but there is no good customer service for MJ.
