Not-So-Gullible
I too received a call from someone with a heavy accent who asked me when i answered if this was a business. when I told him no, he told me a Windows computer in my house was having problems. I let him talk and asked about the company he represented. I asked how he could know that MY computer was having issues & he said they could see that there were problems. I explained that I had several Windows computer at my house, could he give me some information to explain which one it was?i think his response was that it was the one "nearby" to where I was located. I asked for a serial number (surely if he could see that there were issues he could see the serial number) or an IP address for my computer (definitely he could see the ip address if he could see that one of my computers was having issues). He avoided the serial number question but said he did have the IP address. when I asked him to verify it for me, he said he was not allowed to give it out, that only a supervisor could. i responded that i would have to talk to the supervisor then and he quickly told me that he was not allowed to let me talk to a supervisor. i responded that he was not helping me wih my computer if i did not talk to a supervisor. i kept him on the phone as long as I could (with the idea that as long as he was talking to me that he was not scamming someone who did not realize it & might be taken in by their convoluted presentation). However at that point I was pretty pissed at how he was trying to push me into getting some help & trying to make me believe he was legit. so I gave him a piece of my mind & told him there was NO WAY that he or his company would be able to help me with my computer and he promptly hung up the phone.

Not the same number, but the same scam. 877-764-5405.
We've been getting these calls and ignoring them but I just got one and was told XP is now unsupported and so has security issues and yadda yadda. I played along and when asked said I was using my husband's old computer and my son-in-law set it up for me and I use it to read my email every day and I like to get on Facebook and, gosh, I think it might be XP, because I know it's not 7, my son-in-law was a talkin' about that...

He said they are TeqFly in NY and they get a lot of calls from North Carolina, Minnesota, and Michigan about problems related to XP security issues when folks read their emails and visit Social Networking sites and yadda yadda...

I was walked through the eventvwr to see those scary logs and then ask to go to a tqsecure.com website. At that point I stopped him and explained that what they are doing is just wrong.

I got the same from some one named Mike Wilson at TeqFly who had a very steep indian accent.  Wanted me to go to a website because my computer has been infected and has been sending them information.  Yeah right.  Told them I work in Computer Security, they are a fraud and need to stop calling me.    Last time they called they told me they were from the Technical services department with the same sad line.  I am sure after they have inserted malware into my computer they would accept payment to fix it.

I have, indeed, been a customer of TEQFLY since July 31, 2012. I am still their customer. I am very satisfied with their services. Never had a problem.
