The last time these Microsoft scammers called, I answered, "IFB, how may I direct your call?" The Indian guy, asked, "Who's this?" "Internet Fraud Bureau, can I assist you?"......CLICK! Also, tell them, I'm sorry, there's no machines that run Microsoft, we have all Apple products. My favorite, Let them start their talk. Ask them do you have the machine ID that's reporting the error. They'll get flustered and say something. Then say to them, I need the unique machine ID, do you realize I supports THOUSANDS of Microsoft systems...CLICK
I knew it was a scam so I answered my phone as "FBI, Fraud Department, what is your complaint?" I could hear the person on the other end get flustered so I repeated my question and they hung up.
Another call to our land line from this number on Tues. 30 May 2017 at 1:08 pm (Central Time): Caller ID: Lefkowitz Moses. I answered because I wanted to find out what the scam was. The voice on the other end (female, English was obviously not her 1st language) told me she was calling from Microsoft computer support. I replied that I knew the call was a scam and hung up. I have blocked the number.

Several calls from this number in the past couple weeks. We know no one with this name of "Moses Lefkowitz". We didn't answer any of the calls, and no messages have been left.
A Google of the name turned up only a few records nationwide. One of those records, though, is a resident record on a property history site for a home in Brooklyn (which is within the 718 area code), where several members of the family (with varying spelling of the surname) are listed as having been residents at an unspecified point in time. There are several phone numbers associated with the family members, one of which is the same area code and exchange prefix as the number on this page, but with a different set of ending digits.
So this is unquestionably a spoofed Caller ID, using a number that probably has been stolen from a real person who has no association with the scam. I really hate that. Not only does it point up how unreliable Caller ID really is, but it also drags an innocent person's name onto multiple sites like this one and associates it with a scam. I'm trying to make a habit of doing this simple research when I post a scam number and pointing out the cases where it's clear that the Caller ID record was stolen.This hopefully will help reduce the damage done to the victim's reputation.
I have received numerous calls from this number to my home phone. It is always a woman with a heavy accent. Became suspicious because she was speaking very loud as if to alarm me, but she disconnected very quickly when I asked who is Moses Lefkowitz. I now ignore. Obviously a scam.
